You're right it has been a nightmare to go through the code and rework it. I learned a lot while doing so :).
I used the code on my yunohost for a while (until I stopped replacing it) and didn't find any problems anymore.
The code is part of flohmarkt_ynh to offer the additional curl options.
I'll look into the _raw_ version if that helps and how I can replace the tem in the application integration.
But still - sorry to see the code go since it has been many hours of work (which is fine, because it has been interesting and I really learned a lot).
