[13:17:10] <philientaylor> I think self-hosting and communal data-sharing is going to be the future of liberty and freedom from terror, world-wide. Finding out YunoHost exists, and essentially integrates a SSO ecosystem with a variety of pre-configured or customized apps is an incredible relief. I may end up using something like Co-op Cloud's recipe system so I might Docker-host my containers in my user's VMs, but I may also turn to YunoHost due to the integrated nature of its systems management. I may even find a way to do both. 🤔
Nonetheless, none of this would be possible without folk keeping chatrooms like this safe, moderating development, developing, and directing/administrating what is right for the future of YunoHost. Maybe I can end this with a list of FOSS softwares that may surprise/excite the YunoHost community into helping develop more packages for this system? :)
[13:23:36] <philientaylor> I'll plan on looking in the app repository soon, so consider this more of a list of what I'm looking for or hoping for:
* Open Nebula (virtual machine hosting, federating, backups, & communal image sharing, IIRC)
* Netboot.xyz (PXE Network booting of remote servers)
* Restic (I am still new to this, it's a backup service that uses Borg backup?)
* Headscale/Tailscale, NarrowLink (These are networking systems; I'm assuming YunoHost could address each device an IP in either network)
* Caddy (I have been moving away from NGINX or Traefik as remote proxy providers as Caddy does automatic PKI using `step-ca`, a certificate authority system which can make private networks of TLS certs or public ones)
* Skiff/Proton Apps (These apps can be used to securely manage/package/contain mail for users; Skiff was recently acquired, but IIRC may have a more secure mail system, although I'm unaware of how Proton does Mail)
* Solid Servers (Such as Solid-Server, Community-Solid-Server, and the like; These allow User-controlled identity systems, where a user may share their Solid data with a remote service via a certificate/key)

I could go on! :) Thank you all, once again. 🙇‍♀️
[13:42:52] <philientaylor> Oh... I forgot to mention Decidim and Jitsi meet.. 🫠😎 The former is a governance platform, the latter is a well-known conference system that is very likely on the existing YunoHost app list!
