[00:07:00] <philientaylor> > <@anmol:im.anmol.net.in> But I am not really happy with this method, its little hacky and can break on any update.

(way to get a method "working.").
[00:11:53] <philientaylor> > <@anmol:im.anmol.net.in> That is only for initial step to enter password. Once the /root is available the system runs fine.

You still lack encrypted /home, though, so this paragraph I found should be irrelevant, I think. 🤔🤔
[00:11:53] <Anmol> > <@philientaylor:gitter.im> You still lack encrypted /home, though, so this paragraph I found should be irrelevant, I think. 🤔🤔

my /home is on root too.
[00:12:06] <Anmol> yunohost settings set security.ssh.ssh_password_authentication -v no this is not working as well.
[00:13:40] <Anmol> So ssh settings for yunohost are not working. I don't know the cause, if its because of restore or something else.
[00:14:16] <philientaylor> > <@anmol:im.anmol.net.in> So ssh settings for yunohost are not working. I don't know the cause, if its because of restore or something else.

You can't log in with user accounts at the console, though. If you could, it may only be a SSH problem, I think. 🤔 You can only log on with root at the machine console?
[00:15:18] <Anmol> > <@philientaylor:gitter.im> You can't log in with user accounts at the console, though. If you could, it may only be a SSH problem, I think. 🤔 You can only log on with root at the machine console?

yes with root and that too on local ip addresses, not from outside.
[00:15:53] <philientaylor> Have you checked the syslog? I think sshd has a log, have you checked it?
I would ask you to reload/restart sshd, but it may disconnect you if you can't use the console to log in. 🤔
[00:18:40] <philientaylor> Do you use a VPN tunnel to have your other users connect to the machine? Maybe the tunnel is down?
[00:19:14] <Anmol> > <@philientaylor:gitter.im> Have you checked the syslog? I think sshd has a log, have you checked it?
> I would ask you to reload/restart sshd, but it may disconnect you if you can't use the console to log in. 🤔

There is nothing fishy there. I have restarted it. Nothing happens
[00:19:21] <Anmol> > <@philientaylor:gitter.im> Do you use a VPN tunnel to have your other users connect to the machine? Maybe the tunnel is down?

no
[00:20:02] <philientaylor> 🤔 Do the users still exist in /home? I'm really stretching here, but I hope my experience might help.. 😓🤔🔥
[00:20:29] <Anmol> > <@philientaylor:gitter.im> 🤔 Do the users still exist in /home? I'm really stretching here, but I hope my experience might help.. 😓🤔🔥

yes ofcourse.
[00:22:41] <Anmol> I hate it when it things break after restore. My few of the app are not working. But i know fix for most of them. BUt this ssh thing is only thing i have fix.
[00:22:55] <philientaylor> So, if I understand right:
* only root can log in
* via local IPs or console
* other users cannot SSH in,
* Yunohost command line settings aren't in the root path,
* YunoHost backend is inaccessible to users as well 🤔

Can users log in to YunoHost still, though? Or, will the SSH command you issued work if you `su` into your personal YunoHost admin account? 🤔
[00:23:15] <Anmol> So, if I understand right:
* only root can log in yes
* via local IPs or console yes
* other users cannot SSH in, no
* Yunohost command line settings aren't in the root path, I did understand this point
* YunoHost backend is inaccessible to users as well 🤔 admin interface is accessible to admins
[00:23:41] <Anmol> in auth log I am getting "Failed password for invalid user anmol" when I am the in admins group
[00:35:12] <Anmol> philientaylor: If you are admin of your Yuno. Can you tell me the groups you are in?
[00:36:27] <philientaylor> > <@anmol:im.anmol.net.in> philientaylor: If you are admin of your Yuno. Can you tell me the groups you are in?

So... I haven't installed YunoHost yet, but I'm interested since it integrates SSO and DNS changes based on services, including on sub-domains of YunoHost. 😅🤩😓 I can't answer your question.
[00:38:10] <Anmol> So I am in not the admins group. But in Yuno web interface I am there in the admins group.
[00:38:22] <Anmol> I am not able to add myself to admins group.
[08:48:36] <tituspijean> @anmol:im.anmol.net.inlet's assess if your SSH configuration was somewhat changed: `sudo yunohost tools regen-conf ssh -d -n`
[08:49:31] <tituspijean> > <@anmol:im.anmol.net.in> I am not able to add myself to admins group.

please, please, do not forget to copy and paste here the actual error message.
[08:49:49] <tituspijean> (and the command that led to it)
[10:56:06] <Anmol> So only I can not have the admin rights all, other users work normally after restore. I have opened a support topic https://forum.yunohost.org/t/admin-user-do-not-have-admin-rights-after-restore/30970
[10:56:45] <Anmol> It would be nice if I can get back my admin rights.
[17:15:18] <Anmol> > <@titus:pijean.ovh> please, please, do not forget to copy and paste here the actual error message.

yunohost tools regen-conf ssh -d -n

[17:18:29] <Anmol> So I had to changed to the root password to allow to login from outside. But I regen-conf ssh -f after I came home. From home I can do ssh from local ip.
[17:19:25] <Anmol> And for now I have created a dummy user on Yuno, till I get gets the admin rights back. The dummy user has admins rights and it works.
[17:20:06] <Anmol> So admins right only not work for me, because there is mismatch in the uid .
