[05:27:53] <hook> It seems Metronome is already back up from the backups. Impressive
[09:33:34] <titan> I upgraded to 12 yesterday, I see metronome is no longer integrated but does seem to be in some way as it does not require any setup to work (only) with the domain you install it on. Prosody on the other hand needs configuring from scratch. I cannot find any instructions for metronome the link to the website is just high level stuff no user guide.
[09:53:06] <anubis> hello titan, you can either install the metronome app, or the prosody app (the testing version now includes an automatic configuration of audio/videos call for instance : https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/prosody_ynh/tree/testing
[10:00:26] <titan> anubis I have metronome working but I think I will try with prosody there seems to plenty of comprehensive instructions around unlike metronome.
[12:34:09] <centralscrutinizer> Good day everyone
[12:34:24] <centralscrutinizer> I have question related to Synapse package
[12:35:57] <centralscrutinizer> I am currently using the matrix_v2 branch of the matrix server, and I am wondering if it is ok to upgrade it to the master branch, or should I stick to matrix_v2?
[12:46:49] <Hook> anubis , how far is the testing Prosody app at this stage?
[13:12:33] <Hook> > <@PommyK:matrix.org> Thanks, more TM with new energy. Have a good night.

I made progress, see forum thread for updates. It seems the Debian 11 ISO + ynh 11 script + restore backup route is the way to go (at least it seems to work for me)
[13:12:35] <Hook> I hope it helps you.
[13:14:30] <anubis> hello Hook, several people reported that it works 🙂 some extra features are still to be added etc. see Github issues on my repository for up to date known open points ;)
[13:17:36] <Hook> > <anubis> hello Hook, several people reported that it works 🙂 some extra features are still to be added etc. see Github issues on my repository for up to date known open points ;)

Awesome. I might brave up and try it, once I 1) migrate the disks, 2) set up raid1, 3) upgrade to 12 😅
[13:17:56] <Hook> Hopefully this year still
[13:18:32] <anubis> ahah, the clock is running 🙂
[15:44:10] <Nadine> Hi,
where did the YNH app packaging room go? I can't find it? Do I need an invite?
[15:44:59] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> https://doc.yunohost.org/chat_rooms
[16:18:35] <Lasse Gismo> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/Aem8JKYDCp8BdbFT-AFcfRVGul_UbNgKt0TvHIlQqSlvk8PwckG0lEtRUmptQJ6xgGLlOVL7FPcMMtwEpQWGH7xCeT-XaJ5wAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcvbHlMdVpVVFdHa1ZiSEZRbmNKVFRxZHNv
[16:23:20] <Lasse Gismo> So back again, but - :-( no success - idea was to restore every single app to minimize the environment to track/log, but already the first restore throws an error (https://paste.yunohost.org/raw/pipugukuqe) with the known message "nextcloud could no be found in the list of installed apps"
[16:35:38] <Lasse Gismo> Do I need to go back to YNH 11 as Hook did with success, or restart with a brand new YNH12 image on my Raspi5?
[16:37:43] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> `Berechtigung 'flarum.main' existiert bereits` ... naively that sounds like some restauration that was interrupted in the middle ... let me try to find the proper incandation to manually detele the perm ...
[16:48:41] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> Lasse Gismo: can you try `yunohost tools shell -c "from yunohost.permission import permission_delete; permission_delete('flarum.main')"` and try again ?
[16:49:04] <Lasse Gismo> yep...
[16:51:04] <Lasse Gismo> Error: Removing a main permission is not allowed :-(
[16:51:05] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> lel
[16:51:39] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> lets add force=True :

`yunohost tools shell -c "from yunohost.permission import permission_delete; permission_delete('flarum.main', force=True)"`
[16:52:26] <Lasse Gismo> :-)
[16:52:29] <Lasse Gismo> Info: The operation 'Delete permission 'flarum'' could not be completed. Please share the full log of this operation using the command 'yunohost log share 20241223-165150-permission_delete-flarum' to get help
Error: Could not find nextcloud in the list of installed apps:
[16:52:56] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> why the hell is it complaining about nextcloud :|
[16:53:30] <Lasse Gismo> good question, next question - guess I'll restart with a brand new image
[16:53:53] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> does `slapcat | grep nextcloud.main` yields something ?
[16:55:10] <Lasse Gismo> permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
permission: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
dn: cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org
cn: nextcloud.main

[16:55:28] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> hmkay
[16:56:00] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> then assuming that `ls -l /etc/yunohost/apps/nextcloud` returns that the directory doesnt exists, i would also run `yunohost tools shell -c "from yunohost.permission import permission_delete; permission_delete('nextcloud.main', force=True)"`
[16:57:21] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> but that sound like maybe some other perm for apps not yet restored also exist beside flarum and nextcloud ...
[16:57:54] <Lasse Gismo> Info: The operation 'Delete permission 'nextcloud'' could not be completed. Please share the full log of this operation using the command 'yunohost log share 20241223-165658-permission_delete-nextcloud' to get help
Error: Could not find nextcloud in the list of installed apps:
[16:57:56] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> :|
[16:58:39] <Lasse Gismo> I had several runs of restore on this - time for a clean try I guess.
[16:58:53] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> or i guess we could do : `yunohost tools shell -c 'ldap.remove("cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission")'`
[16:59:41] <Lasse Gismo> Error: error during LDAP delete operation with: rdn='cn=nextcloud.main,ou=permission' and exception {'msgtype': 107, 'msgid': 3, 'result': 32, 'desc': 'No such object', 'ctrls': [], 'matched': 'ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org'}

[16:59:52] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> hmkay so it did get deleted previously...
[17:03:02] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> let's try `yunohost tools shell -c "from yunohost.permission import permission_sync_to_user; permission_sync_to_user()` ?
[17:03:02] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> let's try `yunohost tools shell -c "from yunohost.permission import permission_sync_to_user; permission_sync_to_user()"` ?
[17:04:53] <Lasse Gismo> we're running in a circle - Error: Could not find nextcloud in the list of installed apps:
[17:04:53] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> 😭
[17:05:54] <Lasse Gismo> 🥴
[17:50:10] <Lasse Gismo> and now - brand new image?
[17:50:12] <Hook> > <@PommyK:matrix.org> Do I need to go back to YNH 11 as Hook did with success, or restart with a brand new YNH12 image on my Raspi5?

Probably depends on whether your backups are from 11 or 12. I tried to use backups from 11 on a install of 12 and failed. That's why I went with 11 again and will upgrade once the migration is done.
[17:52:07] <Lasse Gismo> same as me - migration from 11 on 32Bit RPi to 12 on 64 Bit RPi
[17:53:52] <Lasse Gismo> than I hope, the inplace migration from 11 to 12 will work sometime
[17:59:34] <Lasse Gismo> there's only a YNH 12 image for RPi available at YNH.org
[17:59:35] <Lasse Gismo> 😉
[17:59:35] <Hook> > <@PommyK:matrix.org> same as me - migration from 11 on 32Bit RPi to 12 on 64 Bit RPi

Honestly, I’d say go with 11. I’ve spent way too many days trying to get backups from 11 to work on 12.
[17:59:35] <Hook> > <@PommyK:matrix.org> there's only a YNH 12 image for RPi available at YNH.org

https://repo.yunohost.org/images/releases_archive/
[17:59:50] <Hook> If that fails (like it did for me), install Debian/Rapsbian/Armbian 11 on your ARM board and then do run `curl https://install.yunohost.org/bullseye | bash`
[18:00:09] <Lasse Gismo> The restore to the new YNH11 image failed?
[18:06:23] <Hook> > <@PommyK:matrix.org> The restore to the new YNH11 image failed?

As I write in that forum thread, I tried to restore YNH11 backups on a fresh YNH 12 system and failed.
[18:06:46] <Hook> I also had issues with YNH 11 ISO images themselves, so had to go “the long route” to install Debian 11 first, then run the official YNH install script on top of it. It’s not much more work or much more complicated, TBH.
[18:07:33] <Lasse Gismo> Will try with a fresh YNH11 image, my backup is only 40 GB and the long path at the end if required
[18:14:45] <h-o-m> Hi there, I'm sorry to ask, because it's probably a classical newbie question:
I installed Yunohost 12.0 for the first time on my Raspberry Pi and now I'm stuck on the web UI post-installation process. I could enter my admin name and password but after clicking on "Next" there it won't proceed. What could be wrong/ done?
[18:17:08] <Lasse Gismo> "sudo top" at the console will help what's consuming your CPU
[18:17:08] <Lasse Gismo> take a look via ssh what's running there, if nothing important do a reboot and retry
[18:17:09] <Lasse Gismo> probably "top" would help
[18:17:09] <h-o-m> (anyway thank you, of course)
[18:17:09] <h-o-m> I already tried the reboot and also reflashing. It's stuck after the second page on the web ui (first admin account).
[18:17:09] <h-o-m> But it's not frozen. I can switch from the inital page to the second and backwards and it's reacting. It just won't go any further than to the second page login / name / password
[18:18:01] <Lasse Gismo> good luck and bye for today
[18:18:01] <Lasse Gismo> than I'm off - sorry
[18:18:01] <h-o-m> ok
[18:18:02] <h-o-m> thanks!
[22:01:21] <hook> (test from XMPP side of things …someone on the Matrix side of things says they could not connect to the XMPP chat)
