[06:27:59]
<nounours> And yes i have for now ssh access
[06:58:04]
<nounours> Wanted to fix everything before holidays 🥹
[06:59:35]
<nounours> The error that i got was chmidr not home folder
[07:09:35]

<captainhonora> Can you elaborate on why I should not run the post install?
[11:41:20]
<harc> translations on yunohost weblate are blocked due to a merge issue
[11:41:22]
<harc> also this string; https://translate.yunohost.org/translate/yunohost/core/pl/?checksum=e0b6c2638f42d6e8 needs to be corrected at source, since the links dont work
[11:59:39]
<lapineige> > <@captainhonora:matrix.org> Can you elaborate on why I should not run the post install?
https://doc.yunohost.org/admin/get_started/install_on/remote_server#-proceed-with-the-initial-configuration
[12:01:02]
<lapineige> When migrating (or restoring backups) on a new server, one can skip the postinstall and restore directly the system backup (the one made with YNH I mean).
[12:01:19]
<lapineige> You can also run the post-install (with a dummy domain name and so on) but that's not needed
[12:01:57]
<lapineige> So you should have the `yunohost backup restore` command available, or else there is a wierd issue
[12:06:07]
<lapineige> > <@captainhonora:matrix.org> But I mean is there a way to restore the content of apps from the backup?
Otherwise the app content should be in the backup archive, on the most basic situation you extract it and move all files to their final location (there is a csv file documenting that) and with appropriate permissions. Some apps will require more work (restoring a database, running migration scripts...). The "restore" script of a particular app would tell you most of that (but it's not always easy to understand, as it calls Yunohost custom helpers to simplify it)
[12:07:01]
<lapineige> That could be quite troublesome, so I'd advise you to first investigate (with our help ;) ) why you don't have the restore command
[12:15:55]
<Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> the issue seems to lie in migration 0028 though not sure why exactly ... maybe a workaround can be to disable it (it shouldn't be "that important" I suppose ... You can do so with : `sudo mv /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/yunohost/migrations/0028_delete_legacy_xmpp_permission.py{,.bkp}`
[12:19:43]
<captainhonora> > When migrating (or restoring backups) on a new server, one can skip the postinstall and restore directly the system backup (the one made with YNH I mean).
How do I do that? the documentation only states "In the case of a complete restoration, it is possible to restore instead of launching the initial configuration."
[12:41:10]
<lapineige> Let's say you have your system backup (or system+apps) named as "mybackup". Place it in /home/yunohost.backups/archives (I believe, I mean YNH backup directory).
After Yunohost installation (not the post install), to my understanding you could do a `yunohost backup restore mybackup`.

<Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> please try this
[16:23:16]
<captainhonora> Trying now

<captainhonora> That seems to have fixed it!

[16:48:03]
<captainhonora> To restore the apps as well should I try to re-run the backup restore command without the --system flag, or is there a better way?
[16:50:36]
<Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> with the `--apps` flag instead of `--system` yes
[16:50:43]
<captainhonora> Perfect thanks
[16:54:49]
<Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> (supposedly you can also do this from the webadmin if you want to be able to select which apps to restore etc ... though theoretically you can also specify the exact list of apps to restore from the CLI)

<captainhonora> (Trying to update now) When there is a long step called "fetching logos", what does it mean?
[17:11:49]
<captainhonora> It seems to be decreasing but slowly. Estimating it will take 3 hours to "fetch the logos".
[17:22:07]
<Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> zmlerf it just fetches the application logos ... for some reason it worked just fine and was pretty fast and since a couple weeks people are reporting issues with this precisely x_x

Thanks for explaining!

<captainhonora> Everything upgraded perfectly this time, thanks Aleks (he/him/il/lui) the magician
