[08:00:30]
<kat> so, /var/www/misskey and /var/www/misskey/files do exist, tried to fix perms - instance still crashes
[08:14:03]
<Chatpitaine Caverne> kat: Can you provide a log of the misskey service by `sudo yunohost service log misskey | yunopaste` + share the paste URL or via GUI in Tools/services/misskey click share logs with yunopaste
(By the way, at installation, the /var/www/misskey/files directory doesn't exist, so I could not see it, malesh)
[08:28:33]
<kat> I kept running into issues with misskey, down to translation and such - ended up giving up and trying bonfire instead... but then that also had issues, this time with search
[08:28:57]
<kat> I must be extremely unlucky that nothing I try ends up working lol
[08:30:14]
<kat> bonfire on the other hand threw an elixir error:
`[error] Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error - ** Elixir.KeyError: key :estimatedTotalHits not found in: {:error, "There was an unexpected error when searching"}`
[08:50:38]
<lautre> When tried to install Bonfire, on 2 of my Yunohost servers, I always had an error. I means, installed successfully, but services bonfire always restart in loop.
I asked to someone else to make a test, he created a new empty Yunohost server and bonfire service seems worked fine.
So, may be there is a conflict somewhere with another service or a shared lib, I don't know
[08:50:42]
<kat> Mitra which has a star next to it just shows an unknown error on attempting to log into your admin account post-install
[08:51:04]
<kat> does... uh... anything installed through yuno actually work..?
[08:51:22]
<kat> no offense just I genuinely feel like anything I install comes with a slew of bugs
[08:52:01]
<kat> oh. bruh.
[08:52:04]
*lautre install Mitra
[08:53:31]
<kat> personally I don't really have anything else hosted on yuno
[08:53:41]
<kat> I mean, I did, but I removed each after they didn't end up working
[08:55:43]
<otm33> kat: With bonfire, is it an issue related to bonfire-meilisearch service ?
[08:56:10]
<kat> unsure. The problem happened when trying to look up anything on the search bar
[08:58:29]
<lautre> bonfire-meilisearch isn't blocking bonfire to works
[08:58:39]
<otm33> kat: Normally, meilisearch handles searches
[08:58:47]
<kat> then I suppose that'd be that, yeah
[08:58:52]
<lautre> I means, bonfire service can works when bonfire-meilisearch failled
[08:59:01]
<kat> bonfire honestly seems really damn cool, so does misskey but bonfire seems more polished (strangely enough)
[08:59:15]
<kat> sucks I can't get it to work on yuno :/
[08:59:20]
<lautre> There is sharkey too
[08:59:35]
<lautre> Misskey, or sharkey, looks similare
[08:59:45]
<kat> you guys got any ideas on how to sole the search problem tho?
[08:59:49]
<kat> with bonfire I mean
[09:00:26]
<lautre> Try to install it on fresh new empty Yunohost
[09:00:31]
<adurigan> Hello everyone, I can no longer find the Mattermost fork MostlyMatter in the list of installable applications on Yunohost, nor on app.yunohost.org, and there's no mention anywhere that it ever existed. Was there a problem with the Mattermost team or something?
[09:00:42]
<kat> so basically reinstall debian reinstall yuno then try?
[09:01:24]
<lautre> You can instll containers, or VM, with Proxmox or Incus first
[09:01:54]
<lautre> But yes, depending where you install these tools. Not good on small VPS
[09:02:06]
<otm33>
> The problem happened when trying to look up anything on the search bar
kat points to an issue with searching
[09:02:39]
<lautre> I didn't gone this far
[09:03:53]
<kat> I'm running on rented bare metal*, this thing could previously handle over 10 minecraft servers at the same time all at 20TPS under 5MSPT and it's got a lot of storage, I think it should be overkill lmao
[09:04:24]
<otm33> If bonfire-meiliserach fails to start, hou have to modify meilisearch version in /home/yunohost.app/bonfire/meilisearch/VERSION (change 1.28.XX to 1.32.2 or the shipped version) and then restart bonfire-emilisearch service.
[09:04:28]
<kat> I had a little PHPBB at one point to learn stuff, it was fun too
[09:04:55]
<kat> alright, I'm gonna reset everything, and if the issue is still there I'll give this a go
[09:05:14]
*lautre afk
[09:06:08]
<otm33> Not sure of the path but I can't check right now
[09:07:46]
<otm33> You could try installing the testing version of bonfire. Issue with meilisearch version should be fixed.
[09:08:16]
<kat> is that a thing I can do via yuno?
[09:09:31]
<otm33> Yes, with the repo testing branch
[09:26:36]
<kat> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/AQXjXOhi6-ibOqBWqafLANBtf9UjlVKgyWcMg7rujSpjuBpZcWAa7bY-rCkREJtVnffpXwOodTCNnfUI_pfTQ1lCeb6i1PBQAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcvV0NJQUR2WG9PV1luRWF4SlZLUkl6aGFq
[09:26:44]
<kat> reinstalled yuno on a clean debian 12 now it pops errors all over
[09:27:15]
<kat> when trying to add a domain
[09:27:42]
<kat> lol, every 1 error I figure out, 2 new ones pop up...
[09:28:30]
<kat> I have completely no clue what to do right now to be honest
[09:30:09]
<Chatpitaine Caverne> Maybe, did you do an upgrade of yunohost after installation ?
[09:30:45]
<kat> I have not
[09:31:23]
<kat> 4 packages needed updating, finished updating now
[09:31:34]
<kat> will try once again
[09:32:03]
<kat> okay that fixed it, one issue scratched off
[09:32:23]
<kat> okay now, about installing Bonfire testing...
[09:32:42]
<kat> where should I do that?
[09:33:25]
<kat> I don't really see any branch option in yuno's installation UI or anything of the sort really
[09:34:30]
<kat> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/AQS_yxIjv4E9W0OWpqevlgw06AwmjCopgOMSLMGBVAiddQpFCbkZtfDC10wqKORf7BpbugjlJePhXbX1n0XNYK1Ceb6jSJfQAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcveG11QVBDbklQQ3NxVFByY0tPenh2Ulhw
[09:34:34]
<kat> do I just do this?
[09:36:34]
<kat> Fingers crossed, I'll be really happy if it works

[09:41:37]
<kat> curses.
[09:41:58]
<kat> it does say 1.32.2 right now

[09:43:04]
<kat> error log
[09:47:30]
<lautre> Whow, Mitra is reactive
[09:49:26]
<kat> okay, Meilisearch is failing
[09:49:34]
<kat> that's the issue here
[09:49:42]
<kat> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/AZcl-iiWKLmar9xFSAfOgOj5kzRGp0t7E_p5zcM9PuYQNBgu65nkjOoLgpdi3_ESiyIC1Y_uJQQzmxLz6EKlW9tCeb6kJzuwAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcvVHJiTHl4WGVDaXpJd2txckJCRGJkQXFq
[09:50:21]
<kat> it won't start and this is what's in journalctl, after checking the status of the service it says it failed and this is why seemingly
[09:51:08]
<otm33> Ok. So change the version manually in /home/yunohost.app/bonfire/meilisearch/VERSION
[09:51:11]
<kat> doesn't help that this friggin link takes me to a 404
[09:51:50]
<kat> okay, wrote 1 line changed it to 1.33.1 from 1.32.2
[09:52:28]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> doesn't help that this friggin link takes me to a 404
Run meilisearch with `--experimental-dumpless-upgrade` manually
[09:53:15]
<kat> so do I just run
```milisearch --experimental-dumpless-upgrade``` in the terminal then?
[09:53:24]
<orhtej2> Like `yunohost app shell bonfire`
[09:53:57]
<orhtej2> `source .meilisearch.env`
[09:54:08]
<orhtej2> and then the command
[09:54:45]
<orhtej2> after stopping meilisearch-bonfire service
[09:55:00]
<kat> command not found, though
[09:55:19]
<orhtej2> `./meilisearch` 😅
[09:55:39]
<kat> oh there we go, thank you
[09:57:13]
<orhtej2> Did it give some output about migrating the data?
[09:58:06]
<kat> not really that I can see
[09:58:50]
<kat> okay I still get errors while searching, this time:
```WARN HTTP request{method=POST host="localhost:7700" route=/indexes/prod_public/search query_parameters= user_agent=Meilisearch Elixir (v1.2.2) status_code=404 error=Index `prod_public` not found.}: tracing_actix_web::middleware: Error encountered while processing the incoming HTTP request: ResponseError { code: 404, message: "Index `prod_public` not found.", error_code: "index_not_found", error_type: "invalid_request", error_link: "https://docs.meilisearch.com/errors#index_not_found" }``` and I don't think even I can decipher this one
[09:59:05]
<kat> port issue? idk
[09:59:24]
<otm33> Are there other meilisearch services running : `ps aux | grep meilisearch` ?
[09:59:29]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> okay I still get errors while searching, this time:
>
> ```WARN HTTP request{method=POST host="localhost:7700" route=/indexes/prod_public/search query_parameters= user_agent=Meilisearch Elixir (v1.2.2) status_code=404 error=Index `prod_public` not found.}: tracing_actix_web::middleware: Error encountered while processing the incoming HTTP request: ResponseError { code: 404, message: "Index `prod_public` not found.", error_code: "index_not_found", error_type: "invalid_request", error_link: "https://docs.meilisearch.com/errors#index_not_found" }``` and I don't think even I can decipher this one
Did you source the env?
[09:59:56]
<orhtej2> did you stop the 'legit' service prior to manual run?
[10:00:35]
<kat> there are indeed two running
[10:00:43]
<kat> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/AQwovRkYs-SPpG_cMu8O2CVG2Ak2dM5gzbSUwr3_czFvjqh6KfNWR4k1uvIZ-Q2GeWIR8PtV62bA9HnW8wVqvxVCeb6kyMwQAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcvSWNMbklHa1piSEtBS1VOSHdiTUhQU0NI
[10:01:02]
<kat> I take it one has to go off
[10:01:32]
<orhtej2> Pkill meilisearch
[10:01:52]
<orhtej2> pkill -INT i mean
[10:03:09]
<kat> did that, one under root is still running, search still doesn't work
[10:03:35]
<kat> or at least
[10:03:38]
<kat> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/AeTwDWhkcsQzON1Mul0dlQgSquHqzfmiGMHsT5eqiUdPWibp5FA8SinHryvFqSy9syeWWhwm7-W_dAuDreORmHZCeb6k83rQAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcvVURnbllYa0tTcHJHUUR1RUVRTG50WkRm
[10:03:41]
<otm33> There is only one meilisearch service
[10:03:42]
<kat> this is how that looks now
[10:03:43]
<orhtej2> why is meilisearch running under root?
[10:04:00]
<orhtej2> > <@otm33:matrix.org> There is only one meilisearch service
I mean it may as well fork
[10:04:32]
<kat> good question, either my mistake or otherwise idk
[10:04:39]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> image.png
That's `grep meilisearch` 😅
[10:04:46]
<kat> oh yea
[10:04:50]
<kat> <-- blind
[10:05:17]
<orhtej2> try restarting the service, perhaps the db update went through already
[10:05:58]
<kat> started it back up
[10:06:14]
<kat> buuut the search still refuses to work
[10:06:23]
<orhtej2> The upgrade docs for reference: https://www.meilisearch.com/docs/learn/update_and_migration/updating#dumpless-upgrade

[10:07:07]
<kat> jesus christ I thought yuno was there to make things easier LMAO
[10:07:22]
<kat> okay hold on lemme try it then?
[10:07:57]
<kat> ah you know it's great when the first command in the docs immediately throws errors
[10:08:18]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> jesus christ I thought yuno was there to make things easier LMAO
I mean this step is clearly missing from the package and should be added in
[10:08:33]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> ah you know it's great when the first command in the docs immediately throws errors
What error?
[10:08:59]
<orhtej2> run this from app shell with sourced env
[10:09:24]
<kat> says it couldn't resolve
[10:09:39]
<kat> https://aria.im/_bifrost/v1/media/download/AY-FuAxIf4aPUSq1jlA8PaXSFjJ8u0wwp-ObJg-99SrPUr1jofw8LbolfmF7y99R5YoQidmJwKUMQP31UUE5Iu1Ceb6lS5KgAG1hdHJpeC5vcmcvUlRzb3FHQk1manl2elRwTUhRR1pLWmlC
[10:09:49]
<kat> running it from bonfire's shell but via root it's the same so idk
[10:10:59]
<otm33> Try restarting both bonfire and meilisearch service and try writing a public message.
[10:13:09]
<orhtej2> Cat .env
[10:13:15]
<orhtej2> whats the contents
[10:14:40]
<kat> restarted bonfire, restarted meilisearch-bonfire - works
[10:14:47]
<kat> well, seems like we got it after all
[10:14:51]
<kat> that was terrifying, if I'm honest
[10:15:15]
<kat> I felt like Dr. Strange having his soul punched out of his body haha
[10:15:41]
<kat> Thank you a lot for your help, it genuinely means a lot and I wouldn't have been able to fix this otherwise
[10:15:49]
<otm33> orhtej2: ynh bot updates testing branch the sources more frequently on the testing branch and that messes up the retrieval of meili_search version...
[10:16:21]
<otm33> kat: Searching is working ?
[10:16:25]
<kat> I opened a github issue for this I hope it helps somebody lul
[10:16:32]
<kat> Yes! I made a post that says "test", looking up test fetches the post
[10:16:34]
<orhtej2> > <@otm33:matrix.org> orhtej2: ynh bot updates testing branch the sources more frequently on the testing branch and that messes up the retrieval of meili_search version...
Adding a test for ci now
[10:17:06]
<kat> I will now proceed to be happy that this thing works
[10:17:14]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> Yes! I made a post that says "test", looking up test fetches the post
What a rollercoaster that was just to find `test` 😅
[10:17:23]
<otm33> *kat Are you able to search a fediverse account ?
[10:17:39]
<kat> World's most precious hello world
[10:17:47]
<kat> lemme look up mona real quick, I use it on my phone
[10:18:21]
<kat> wait I'll have to enable automatic federation first though right?
[10:18:54]
<kat> There we go, it works! :DD

[10:19:33]
<kat> uh oh
[10:19:50]
<kat> oh boy...
[10:20:27]
<kat> aw man now it won't even boot
[10:20:30]
<kat> (bonfire, I mean)
[10:21:04]
<kat> yeah so the entire site broke now
[10:21:11]
<kat> 😭
[10:21:32]
<kat> could that be cause dovecot is down?
[10:22:56]
<otm33> orhtej2: Should this work with on main branch ?
```
I'm notna jq wizard tbh
[10:36:36]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> could that be cause dovecot is down?
Something in service log?
[10:37:16]
<kat> ```Fatal: service(stats) User doesn't exist: vmail (See service stats { unix_listener /run/dovecot/stats-reader { user } } setting)```
```master: Fatal: service(stats) User doesn't exist: vmail (See service stats { unix_listener /run/dovecot/stats-reader { user } } setting)```
```dovecot.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=89/n/a```
[10:55:01]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> if I do journalctl from the terminal everything looks fine, I think, except for the fact that
I mean the shared log comes from some file, try finding lines above it
[10:56:50]
<kat> yeah on yunohost it says that comes from journalctl
[10:57:32]
<kat> let me reboot it rq
[11:01:30]
<kat> over 4000 lines of log, honest to god I can't tell you what the heck went kaput here
[11:02:21]
<kat> been scrolling this for the past few minutes
[11:13:26]
<kat> there is stuff like this in the log
[11:13:33]
<kat> ...tons of it
[11:13:48]
<kat> yeah no I think a packager needs to fix this, this is WAY beyond my scope
[11:14:26]
<kat> there's so many errors and warnings I don't even know where to begin, and the site won't even display outside a black error screen
[11:14:37]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> yeah no I think a packager needs to fix this, this is WAY beyond my scope
I think upstream needs to fix this 🤔
[11:14:42]
<kat> damn...
[11:17:56]
<orhtej2> Looking at 1.0.1...
[11:19:47]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> damn...
You can give it a spin, make backup then `sudo yunohost app upgrade bonfire -u https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/bonfire_ynh/tree/orhtej2-patch-1`
[11:27:23]
<kat> let's do it, I'll let you know how it goes
[11:30:03]
<otm33> The retrieval works, but the sources of bonfire-meilisearch and MeiliSearch app need to be the same. The problem here is that the bonfire testing branch was updated before the meilisearch main branch.
[11:30:30]
<kat> same black screen after trying the patch, I'll reinstall debian as a whole, then yuno, then I'll retry
[11:30:55]
<kat> thankfully I've nothing to lose since the machine's been empty otherwise so I can afford to reset it as many times as needed
[11:34:39]
<couscousyeah> tu devrais peut etre reposer la question dans le flux général et pas dans un thread, ce sera davantage visible je pense
[11:52:43]
<Chatpitaine Caverne> Juste une info youpi perso.
J'ai enfin réussi à faire fonctionner une configuration avec l'appli Redirect. Jusqu'alors je n'avais jamais rien compris. C'est le blog de Gemma qui m'a débloqué le cerveau : https://blog.genma.fr/?Yunohost-l-application-Redirect-et-Proxmox
[11:54:57]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> let's do it, I'll let you know how it goes
Ci failed so prognosis is not good 😅
[11:55:16]
<kat> oof...
[13:02:58]
<adurigan> C'est là que je me rends compte que je ne sais pas utilisé matrix/element !
[13:03:58]
<Sébastien> Hello tout le monde !
[13:04:38]
<Sébastien> j'ai un petit serveur utilisant yunohost entre autres
[13:05:06]
<Sébastien> et je cherche s'il y aurait https://cactus.chat/ sur yunohost
[13:05:57]
<Sébastien> le dev principal ne peut plus héberger
[13:06:44]
<Sébastien> ça serait possible de créer une conf pour yunohost?
[13:19:47]
<Chatpitaine Caverne> Sébastien: If you are a bit developer, you can participate by packaging this app.
Here are some documentations to help :
If you are not developper at all, then, we need to find a packager who wants to do it.
<Sébastien> sorry, the English version :)
I have a small server relying on yunohost for a number of things. On the other side I've been using https://cactus.chat/ for homepage comments, and it's based on Matrix.
Now the main dev can't go on hosting the main ~~YunoHost~~ matrix extension most people use, so people look for other hosts. Could this be set up as one of the apps on YunoHost? (Like signal-mautrix bridges & co)
(EDIT: the main matrix extension is Not configured by YunoHost, sentence fixed)
[13:22:59]
<Sébastien> I am, but underwater these months. I'll have a look at the examples though, and start for sure if I don't see any other news :)
[13:30:34]
<Chatpitaine Caverne> Sébastien: You can also discuss with packagers in this room : #yunohost-apps:matrix.org
<otm33> Could you test this version ? https://github.com/otm33GH/bonfire_ynh/tree/versionfix_2
[15:33:11]
<kat> on it, I'll give it a try in a few minutes as soon as I can!
<orhtej2> > <@otm33:matrix.org> Could you test this version ? https://github.com/otm33GH/bonfire_ynh/tree/versionfix_2
Downgrade is likely unsupported
<sem (he/him)> Hi, I would like to install yunohost at yuno.mydomain.TLD, nextcloud.mydomain.TLD, etc., and use a wildcard SSL cert for all subdomains.
[15:54:45]
<sem (he/him)> When installing yunohost is there a way to set it up to use a wildcard cert?
[16:12:44]
<kat> installing now
[16:13:58]
<artlog> interesting question, even getting a wildcard certificate form letsencrypt requires some skills, i didn't even yet did it Did you do it for others domains ? For what i have discussed ti requires dns interactions
[16:15:46]
<artlog> https://letsencrypt.org/docs/challenge-types/#dns-01-challenge
[16:17:44]
<artlog> so requires Your DNS provider offer an API for.
[16:20:05]
<kat> I'll be damned you magnificent creature, it actually works!! :D
[16:20:34]
<kat> no words could capture the respect I have here
[16:20:38]
<artlog> is that done in yunohost ? let's see ... https://doc.yunohost.org/en/admin/domains/#sslhttps-certificates
[16:22:59]
<artlog> sem (he/him): so the answers in link above indicates you host need to be reachable from internet, this really looks like https://letsencrypt.org/docs/challenge-types/#http-01-challenge that can't be use to sign wildcard certificates. So i would state : Yunohost can't do it.
[17:09:45]
<otm33> Are all the features working ? I hope you'll be able top upgrade from this version.
[17:11:34]
<kat> it looks like things are working, yes
[17:20:31]
<kat> ah, clicking on "Trending" seems to
[17:20:41]
<kat> sort of cause an offline-online loop
[17:21:06]
<kat> goes offline for a second then back up
[17:21:25]
<kat> same with "Curated" for some odd reason
[17:23:22]
<kat> I'm just gonna disable them for now, thankfully that is an option
[18:34:18]
<orhtej2> > <@katprodg:matrix.org> same with "Curated" for some odd reason
Probably backend crash
[18:45:19]
<otm33> Do the logs show anything related to this?
[20:01:45]
<matt> Hi!
[20:02:17]
<matt> I didn't did anything on my server recently
[20:02:35]
[20:58:12]
<orhtej2> > <@matematt:matrix.org> I have a simple question: Am I beeing hacked? 37nNh6%m)8b_
<tonton> Hi, upgrading Nextcloud (nextcloud) from 31.0.11~ynh1 to 32.0.5~ynh1 failed a week ago here. Upon failure it said it was putting back the previous nextcloud, and I didn't check until I got errors the day after. I'm trying to piece nextcloud back together, putting in the files from backups that are missing and now it seems the nextcloud database is empty and all.
What is the best way forward?
I guess I should just restore the backup, but do I need to remove nextcloud first?
[21:31:13]
<tonton> I'm finding my answers in the first page of the backup docs, I was certain it didn't mention it, but I did remember something about uninstalling first... :P So the answer from docs is to uninstall the app before restoring the backup.
