[00:28:41] <magikh> Hello, I have a problem installing Synapse (Matrix Homeserver) on my Yunohost instance
[00:28:41] <magikh> - When using domain.tld Element can't connect to my Synapse instance (even if the service is running)
[00:28:42] <magikh> - During the installation I am aked if I want to choose a name for my server so that user ids looks like @user@domain.tld instead of @matrix.magikh.fr
[00:28:42] <magikh> - If I choose matrix.domain.tld the Element app (client) can connect but I have a warning that the identity server is not reachable
[00:28:47] <magikh> What I want is having Synapse installed on matrix.domain.tld and users ids looks like @user@domain.tld (not the subdomain)
[00:28:48] <magikh> Can you help me troubleshoot this ?
[08:06:08] <yunohelper> Hi! To help us volunteers help you, read about <a href="https://yunohost.org/en/community/help#how-to-ask-for-help">how to ask for help</a>.
<br />
Notably, if you are getting an error, share its <em>full</em> log by pasting here the link to the page created by the YunoPaste buttons. Explain your problem <em>directly, plainly, but concisely</em>.
<br />
Thank you for you patience, and thank you for using YunoHost!
[09:23:29] <orhtej2> > <@magikh:libera.chat> - When using domain.tld Element can't connect to my Synapse instance (even if the service is running)

as I understand this is your current setup and it seems to be working just right?
[09:23:46] <Plumf> https://aria.im/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/KDxojfDacAyRIeaDemllkvBu
[09:24:24] <orhtej2> > <@magikh:libera.chat> - During the installation I am aked if I want to choose a name for my server so that user ids looks like @user@domain.tld instead of @matrix.magikh.fr

according to 'What I want is having Synapse installed on matrix.domain.tld and users ids looks like @user@domain.tld (not the subdomain)' this is exactly what you want to do, there's then some trickery auto-generated that exposes `domain.tld/.well-known/matrix/{client,server}` that makes all the necessary plumbing
[13:28:10] <ynhuser> And i was telling that yunohost is a easy and friendly for this kind on installation so i don't understand why i got so much issues and problems here.. I just want my app to be updated and i'm on RPI4 and and x86_64 normal i3 PC. So really i don't understand..
[13:49:47] <orhtej2[l]> test
[13:49:48] <orhtej2> test
[13:50:20] <orhtej2> libera.chat bridge is borked again
[13:50:34] <orhtej2[l]> anyone?
[13:50:42] <orhtej2> nope, does not show up on remote side
[13:51:42] <titus> (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ it shows up on #yunohost:libera.chat though
[13:51:43] <orhtej2> really?
[13:51:43] <orhtej2> https://aria.im/_matrix/media/v1/download/circledsquareroot.ovh/3d4c8910a4a71535ad13016d3a4710dd500e2953767769fedacaf2a3d85611c8
[13:51:52] <orhtej2> ahhhh my mistake
[13:52:43] <orhtej2> nope does not seem to bridge from there at all
[13:52:48] <orhtej2> or I'm doing it wrong
[13:53:15] <tituspijean[m]> "works for me" :/
[13:53:59] <tituspijean[m]> though previous IRC users seem to lose their first message through the bridge :/
[13:54:16] <orhtej2> > <@titus:pijean.ovh> though previous IRC users seem to lose their first message through the bridge :/

that's why I checked

[13:57:32] <orhtej2[l]> suddenly I see Tag's message
[13:57:40] <orhtej2> and' mine?
[13:58:16] <orhtej2> test
[13:58:31] <orhtej2> ok I don't get it
[13:59:39] <orhtej3> how about now?
[13:59:48] <orhtej2> and now?
[14:04:52] <ynhuser> yeah ?
[14:04:53] <ynhuser> i see you
[14:11:44] <Melchisedech28> Hi all, I'm on a trip and I took with me my RPi with Yunohost. At home, an external hard drive is mounted at boot using fstab but I didn't take it with me and boot won't complete. I found a monitor and I'm stuck at "Give root password for maintenance". Which password should I enter ?
[14:16:03] <Tag> This used to be the password you choose for the admin user during the post install
[14:16:40] <Melchisedech> Huh, thanks Tag I thought this user didn’t exist anymore.
[14:17:18] <Melchisedech> (Sorry for the various logins, I tried from the web interface on my phone and it wasn’t stable at all).
[14:18:16] <Tag> During the post install, YunoHost sets the root password with the password you entered for the admin user/first user you create. It's not synced, it stay the same even if you had change the admin/first user password

[14:22:06] <Melchisedech> It worked! + my keyboard is an azerty and the RPI thought it was a Qwerty...
[14:22:17] <Melchisedech> Thanks a lot Tag

Tu as raisons !
[14:23:57] <orhtej2> > <@ynhuser:libera.chat> i see you

can you please re-paste your problem statement? It didn't make it to Matrix room
[14:24:03] <Plumf> Tag: So perfect
[18:48:43] <titus[i]> Hi @mcscruff, we really need you to be specific: what's the error? Jellyfin's system user should be able to read `/home/yunohost.multimedia/share`
[19:14:07] <mcscruff> titus[i] I have my files mounted in /Share , I thought i would be able to make a symbolic link to /home/yunohost.multimedia/share so i didnt have to move all my files
[19:22:45] <tituspijean[m]> ah I understand. What are the rights associated with your `/Share`? Notably, the group `multimedia` needs to be able to read it.
[19:57:50] <douwe> Hey, I have an issue with my nextcloud installation. I asked on the forum twice ( [here](https://forum.yunohost.org/t/nextcloud-the-server-has-no-working-internet-connection/22593) and [here]([vector://vector/webapp/here](https://forum.yunohost.org/t/nextcloud-this-server-has-no-working-internet-connection/20878) ), but sadly no one could help me.

I just removed nextcloud from my instance and made a brand new fresh installation. But the same problem is still there. I am tempted to open another forum topic, but that doesn't feel right. So I am asking here if anyone can help me.

Big thanks already!

[20:20:02] <douwe> in the meantime I found that this issue is very common and discussed often over at the Nextcloud community. Someone there claims that this is the solution:

"You just need to grant httpd/apache outbound network access via SELINUX."

`setsebool -P httpd_can_network_connect 1`

[20:32:23] <douwe> anyone here able to help me understand and do that as
SELinux doesn't seem to be enabled on my system.

[20:46:52] <douwe> I have a problem where my NextCloud installation complains that it has no network connection (When it does)

Another person solved it. This person was running CentOS Linux with Apache. This person needed to grant httpd/apache outbound network access via SELINUX.

But I have a Debian VPS with nginx... so what would my option be?
[20:51:59] <douwe> and this is in the logs:
