[14:33:01] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> or `yunohost domain dns push --help` probably
[14:33:09] <Salamandar> yunohost mostly doesn’t use containers. But it can’t run in a docker container either, because it’s mostly using systemd to manage services and docker decided to not support systemd
[14:33:09] <testman> I saw that some people made YUNOHost containers, but is that a good idea? Having a container that runs other containers inside it? Sounds a bit convoluted to me.
[14:33:11] *Salamandar thinks about Synology and their non-standard way to do everything…
[14:33:11] <Salamandar> VM is a possibility though. There are no required "network wizardries" I think, you just have to configure your host system’s firewall accordingly I suppose
[14:33:11] <Salamandar> Don’t forget that Yunohost is (mostly) a standard Debian system, with just "helpers" to install your favourite applications 😉
[14:33:12] <tonton> Awesome, just the thing I needed Aleks (he/him/il/lui) :) I'd been looking at it a bit, but hadn't found it. Thank you. 💚
[14:33:22] <testman> Is there any good way to set up YUNOHost if you already have a home server running?
Is virtual machine the best option? Does VM require a lot of networking wizardry when setting up new YUNOHost services?
[16:05:29] <hook> testman, if it’s Debian(-based), it’s fairly simple: https://yunohost.org/en/install/hardware:vps_debian
[16:39:03] <hook> YuNoHost creates a separate user for each app that you install through it and then uses file permissions and groups (and SELinux, I think) to make it all work and separate/secure.
[17:56:15] <amu> Hello. I have some problems with my yunohost XMPP server: 1- XMPP users cannot upload files to be sent. 2 - If I create a room (muc) only users of my yunohost XMPP server can join. 3 - Sometimes there are letsenctypt cert renewal problems that are solved by disabling the XMPP server.
[17:56:31] <amu> I can live with problem 3, but I would like to solve problems 1 and 2.
[18:03:17] <testman> Sadly my server is not Debian-based, it is Fedora Server 39
[18:03:17] <testman> now I'm thinking about just nuking the whole thing and installing Debian
[18:04:04] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> ogod no SELinux, nope, nope nope nope
[18:04:44] <Louis> Ok thanks
[18:04:44] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> it's to be configured on your registrar, the place where you bought your domain name
[18:04:44] <Louis> Aaah makes sense
[18:04:44] <Louis> Hi there, first time I install yunohost and I’m stuck with the DNS configuration… I don’t know where to paste the **recommended** configuration that `yunohost domain dns-conf your.domain.tld` gives me
[18:05:04] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> well maybe problem 1 and 2 are due to the fact that you workaround the certificate renewal issue ("3") instead of fixing the root cause of the issue
[18:07:46] <amu> Aleks: Ooh, that makes a lot of sense, so easy!! Never considered it because 3 seemed to be a common Yunohost problem when I found it. Ok, I am going to try to renew the cert having XMPP enabled, as it should...
[18:10:01] <amu> Let's Encrypt certificate renew failed
[18:10:03] <amu> : (
[18:13:37] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> please share the full log as recommended by the error message
[18:14:32] <amu> Aleks: Weeeird, I tried again and it worked the second time.
[18:14:35] <amu> Cert renewed
[18:14:50] <amu> I am going to test 1 and 2
[18:14:58] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> computers 😬
[18:15:05] <amu> : D
[18:20:21] <amu> 1, 2 and 3 solved
[18:21:21] <amu> Today a cute <3 for Yunohost
[18:46:27] <lapineige> Follow up: is was a storage space issue (0%)
