[02:08:23] <alcapurrias [she/her]> > <@anmol:im.anmol.net.in> My dnsmasq is failing after installing pihole. regen-conf says this: https://paste.yunohost.org/naxekayupu.yaml

I am having the same problem. I uninstalled and it's still broken because it's looking for a pihole folder https://paste.yunohost.org/kapoteguxo

Have you regenerated the dnsmasq?
[02:11:12] <alcapurrias [she/her]> How does one do that?

# yunohost tools regen-conf dnsmasq --debug
[02:19:53] <alcapurrias [she/her]> Thanks, unfortunately it fails

I had error in the same file as well, did not wanted to debug deeper. Removing pihole worked for me. Maybe try to install pihole again and delete it, to check if it uninstalled correctly last time.
[02:35:27] <Anmol> or temporally create the pihole file $ touch /var/log/pihole/pihole.log
[02:36:21] <alcapurrias [she/her]> I just got the service to start, I was updating the system and got this error message:

> Warning: The configuration file '/etc/dnsmasq.d/01-pihole.conf' has been manually modified and will not be updated

[02:36:21] <alcapurrias [she/her]> I removed that file and it started up
[02:38:33] <alcapurrias [she/her]> `yunohost tools regen-conf dnsmasq --force` also worked now
[10:19:55] <Chatpitaine Caverne> Hello,
Just to let you know about the bind-mount experiment. I passed on a /home mounted partition on the NvMe drive. Easier, definitely.
Edit : And my /boot partition is so small know !

[12:35:06] <Guillaume Bouzige> hello, how do I activate the gandi auth token for a domain via cli ? and then how do I auto-magically apply conf ?
[15:31:48] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> should be something like `yunohost domain config set your.domain.tld dns` (not 100% sure about the syntax) and then `yunohost domain dns push yourdomain.tld`
[15:36:20] <Bird> Hi, I haven't installed Yuno yet and I can't find answers to my questions on the website.
I just need webspace to host a locally archived forum on archive.org.

1: Is a web service available after the basic setup or do I need to install additional applications?

2: I want to install it on my old notebook and connect it to my new notebook running VPN. Do I need to install any VPN stuff on the computer running Yuno?

[15:41:18] <Chatpitaine Caverne> Bird: After the installation process, you get a debian 11, a domain (.local, your-bought-domain, or a nohost.me domain) a Nginx, fully secured Web Server, a mail server with POP3 and/or IMAP (you can deactivate it)

After that you can add the apps from the apps catalog. Here are some apps with the forum keyword :

[15:43:48] <Bird> Chatpitaine Caverne: I just need a web server, so this thing is Ngnix :) And what about the VPN issue?
[15:43:54] <Bird> "2: I want to install it on my old notebook and connect it to my new notebook running VPN. Do I need to install any VPN stuff on the computer running Yuno?"
[15:47:04] <Chatpitaine Caverne> In this case you just need the my-webapp app and you can put wathever you want in it. This app his only a yunohost integration of various web-server.

[15:48:09] <Chatpitaine Caverne> I don't know much 'bout VPN. Sorry. But there are VPN server and client solutions inside the app catalog also.

[15:48:56] <Bird> Chatpitaine Caverne: But you said that there is Nginx already. In this case I assume I don't need any additional app, right?
[15:50:15] <Chatpitaine Caverne> > <@bird2021:matrix.org> Chatpitaine Caverne: But you said that there is Nginx already. In this case I assume I don't need any additional app, right?

Yunohost takes care of a lot of things. Using My-webapp gives Yunohost the necessary links to manage the administration of your server. It's a very light weight app, only config files mainly.
[15:51:14] <Chatpitaine Caverne> And nothing has to be paid, only if you want to contribute one day or another, to help the devs, thats fine.
[15:52:28] <Bird> In regards to the VPN: https://yunohost.org/en/howtohostyourself
[15:52:31] <Bird> At home, behind a VPN

A VPN is an encrypted tunnel between two machines. In practice, it makes it "as if" you were directly, locally, connected to your server machine, but actually from somewhere else on the Internet. This allows you to still host yourself at home, while bypassing possible limitations of your ISP. See also the Internet Cube project and the FFDN.

Pros : you will have physical control of the machine, and the VPN hides your traffic from your ISP and allows you to bypass its limitations;
Cons : you will have to pay a monthly subscription for the VPN.

[15:52:59] <Bird> Is there any additional information about VPN?
[15:53:58] <Bird> Otherwise I think I will be fine if I connect the Yuno computer with my computer running VPN.
[15:54:31] <Chatpitaine Caverne> > <@bird2021:matrix.org> Otherwise I think I will be fine if I connect the Yuno computer with my computer running VPN.

I think with network configuration, there gonna be no issue.
[15:55:50] <Bird> I have to do NAT configuration on the computer running VPN, but that should not be a problem.
[15:57:23] <Chatpitaine Caverne> > <@bird2021:matrix.org> I have to do NAT configuration on the computer running VPN, but that should not be a problem.

I think so also, otherwise, here are the VPN apps available in Yunohost catalog : https://apps.yunohost.org/catalog?search=vpn
[15:58:52] <Bird> Oh, I didn't see that one - thanks
[16:00:48] <Chatpitaine Caverne> A cat giving a heart-hand to a bird (well a very big bird), that's nice.
[16:01:22] <Bird> If I have a problem with the config I initially intended to make, then I'll try VPN on the Yuno computer.
[16:01:28] <Bird> Thank you very much for your replies, I just have to wait until my USB-to-Ethernet adapter arrives :)
[16:01:49] <Bird> Bye for now :)
[19:01:22] <douwe> Hey, are there here people who succesfully setup CardDav from either Nextcloud or Baikal with MacOS?
