[02:10:22] <lapineige> It's my server.
Indeed there where almost no space left
[07:49:50] <Boudewijn> > Hi. I'm trying to set up my YunoHost instance on a VPN with WireGuard. I also have a NordVPN subscription for general use I could use instead. I just don't know how to set it up. I've searched all over the internet for some kind of guide or the like but I can't find anything. Could anyone help? I'm using an ODROID-HC4 for my server and am on the latest version of YunoHost.

Hi Flamy, you want to run your Yunohost at home, and use the IP(s) of your VPN as access to your Yunohost?

I'm not familiar with NordVPN. In case of Wireguard: you set up a connection between you Yunohost and your machine with Wireguard, and set DNS to point to the IP of your Wireguard machine.

Besides that, there is no difference in setup. You can just install Yunohost on your Odroid as if there is no VPN involved. On the forums there's a tutorial for the Wireguard setup by rungeard, https://forum.yunohost.org/t/homemade-wireguard-vpn-on-a-vps-server/15662

[14:27:40] <Anmol> So, there is electric outage going on at my place due to protest in near by areas. So server needs to shutdown many times to preserve the batteries, there is another server running for close friend in other location and the users are different from our server. Can we some how make that server as the fallback server for our emails? Has someone tried something like this?
[14:30:30] <lapineige> I wonder if you could setup an SMTP relay for this

Hi, thank you for the reply. That's correct, that is the usage I'm intending. Thank you for the guide, but I can't read French, so I can't really use it. I've already set up YunoHost on my device, and am attempting to set up the Wireguard server on the same device via the YunoHost app. I'll try changing the DNS settings and see if that works.
[15:16:51] <Flamy, a Dragon 🐉> Oh, I'm sorry, I see the English text now.
[16:57:40] <hook> Do I remember correctly that 12 should bring BorgBackup as the default system backup in YNH?
[16:57:54] <hook> If so, is there anything I can prepare for already in 11?
[18:38:30] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> > <hook> Do I remember correctly that 12 should bring BorgBackup as the default system backup in YNH?

uuuuh, no ?
[18:39:52] <hook> > uuuuh, no ?
My bad then. So nothing changes in the way system backups are done in 12?
[18:40:21] <Aleks (he/him/il/lui)> nope
[18:43:05] <hook> OK, thanks :)
[18:44:09] <Sascha Baumann> hi there. just one question - is this an official support room?
[18:45:21] <hook> Aleks (he/him/il/lui), I found it where I got this from:
https://yunohost.org/en/backup/borgbackup
> The future default backup method integrated in YunoHost will be based on this software.
[18:45:29] <hook> Sascha Baumann, yes
[18:46:09] <hook> Sascha Baumann, see: https://yunohost.org/en/chat_rooms
[18:47:32] <Sascha Baumann> > Sascha Baumann, see: https://yunohost.org/en/chat_rooms
ahhhh i see - soory for me being stupid :-)
[19:03:44] <hook> Sascha Baumann, no worries :)
[19:26:01] <hook> Is there a way to tweak the domain name expiry detection?
[19:28:57] <hook> I just noticed two isuses with it:
• it complains that it cannot get this data for bar.name (which is correct, because it does not exist), but the domain name that is registered and used in YNH is foo.bar.name (yes, it’s a 3rd level domain … .name are a bit … special)
• it does not complain that example.at is about to expire, and it should – I use several subdomains in YNH with it
[22:27:42] <lapineige> And that's not even sure considering the evolution of Restic which is now very interresting compared to Borg (while providing similar features)
[22:29:15] <hook> lapineige, what’s the benefits of Restic over Borg? (link would be very fine)
[22:32:55] <icefishi> any chance we could get support for domains like i❤️.ws ?
[22:42:40] <hook> icefishi, you can, if you expand the domain to ASCII
[22:43:15] <hook> i.e. in your case, you just need to enter `xn--i-7iq.ws` instead and then it works fine
[22:43:58] <icefishi> > <hook> icefishi, you can, if you expand the domain to ASCII

i know that for example https://xn--i-7iq.ws/ would work but it wold be cool if the ui would accept the first version
[22:44:41] <hook> > i know that for example https://xn--i-7iq.ws/ would work but it wold be cool if the ui would accept the first version
True (I have a domain with a non-ASCII Latin character too)
[22:47:30] <icefishi> > <hook> > i know that for example https://xn--i-7iq.ws/ would work but it wold be cool if the ui would accept the first version

i got myself a cheap one today as i wanted to try and host mastodon on it and see if i could get it to show them in my profile and not the converted one
[23:04:40] <hook> I’m looking at https://yunohost.org/en/external_storage
… if I’m using Btrfs subvolumes, do I still need to use `--bind`?
